The ÇDP (website) was established on 15 August 2014 to defend the Turkish citizens of Circassian ethnicity, whose number is estimated at 6 million.

The flag of ÇDP (photos) is green with the party's emblem.
The green field and the yellow stars are a clear reminiscence of the flag of Adygeya, the Russian autonomous Republic where most ethnic Circassians live.
